Il titolo fonde due parole, “Earth” e “Hertz” (unità di misura della frequenza). Immaginiamo il nostro pianeta come uno spettro di frequenze audio-visive che, dalla iniziale semplicità, si sviluppa nel tempo con una serie di armoniche, fino ad evolversi verso la complessa situazione attuale. L’elemento fondamentale di partenza è la frequenza della risonanza di Shumann, emessa dal nostro pianeta. Vibrando, questa muove le superfici sovrastanti, mentre su di essa si aggiungono, via via, le frequenze parziali create dall’uomo, poggiate, talvolta pesantemente, sulle armoniche naturali e primordiali. Si giunge, quindi, ad un panorama video-sonico variegato, ad un accordo (insieme di frequenze) in saturazione e poi, con la modernità, al movimento caotico di luci, ad un coro con picchi massimi di intensità, progresso ed entropia. Il risultato è una riflessione sul nostro percorso, sulla possibilità di nuovi equilibri tra forze ormai insostenibilmente contrastanti. Il progetto rappresenta, riflette e risuona lo spazio e il tempo trascorso, il presente ed una prospettiva, attraverso la sonografia di cicli in successione ma dagli esiti più o meno imprevedibili.
The title merges two words, “Earth” and “Hertz” (unit of frequency). We imagine our planet as a spectrum of audio-visual frequencies that, from the initial simplicity, develops over time with a series of harmonics, until evolving towards the complex current situation. The fundamental starting element is the frequency of the Shumann resonance, emitted by our planet. Vibrating, this moves the surfaces above, while on it are added, gradually, the partial frequencies created by man, resting, sometimes heavily, on natural and primordial harmonics. We arrive, then, to a varied video-sonic panorama, to a chord (set of frequencies) in saturation and then, with modernity, to the chaotic movement of lights, to a chorus with maximum peaks of intensity, progress and entropy. The result is a reflection on our path, on the possibility of new balances between now unsustainably contrasting forces. The project represents, reflects and resonates space and time, the present and a perspective, through the sonography of cycles in succession but with more or less unpredictable outcomes.
