Difficilmente l’uomo abbandona le proprie convinzioni per avventurarsi nello sconfinato sconosciuto, alla ricerca delle proprie paure. Con Confort zone i partecipanti potranno scegliere se rimanere, appunto, nel loro habitat o se approdare nello sconosciuto, consapevoli dell’incertezza. L’opera consiste in un'installazione sonora composta da quattro casse sorrette da piedistalli ad un metro e sessanta circa di altezza, posizionate ai quattro angoli di una stanza buia, e da un microfono dato al singolo fruitore che si avventurerà all’interno mettendosi alla prova. egli si troverà a fronteggiarsi con l’onda di risonanza emessa fra i due dispositivi, che, genereranno un suono crescente dato dall’avvicinamento dei due congegni. Il suo compito sarà quello di decidere tra proseguire o rimanere nella zona neutra, la suddetta Comfort zone, al cui interno invece, vige il silenzio.
With great effort people leave their convictions behind to venture into the vast unknown to search for their fears. With Comfort zone the partecipants can choose either to stay in their own habitat or to approach the unknown, aware of the uncertainties. The project consists of an audio installation composed by four speakers, held high with pedestals reaching approximately 1,60 meters, placed at the each corner of a dark room. And a microphone is given to a single spectator for him to venture into the darkness and test his limits where he will find himself affronted by the high pitched sound emitted from the resonance between the speaker and the microphone. The spectators duty would be making a choice between moving forward in the room or staying still in the neutral zone, or as written above, Comfort zone where there is nothing but silence.
